You can make a big difference by sponsoring our homeless hounds from under 17p per day!

Please help us give homeless hounds shelter, a healthy diet, and access to the vital veterinary treatment, therapies and training they need to get back on their feet.

Why become a GAL Sponsor?

GAL work hard to place all our incoming dogs into foster homes so we can get to know each hound individually and help them to transition into life as a pet. Sadly, however, due to an increase in ex racing and ex hunting dogs, we are rehoming more and more surrendered dogs, many of which have been abused and abandoned.

Some of the hounds we take on have complex behavioural and/or medical issues, and we’re unable to place them in a home straight away. Your sponsorship will play a significant part in a dog’s recovery.

  • The average cost to keep a GAL hound in good quality accommodation is around £1,100 per month.

    GAL don’t have kennels, so we rely on partnerships with boarding kennels and with home boarding professionals to provide the best possible accommodation while we help these dogs overcome difficulties and recover their health.

     If you’ve ever had to have a beloved hound go to a boarding facility you’ll know how much it costs for somewhere warm, safe and of course pleasant for them to enjoy their holidays too! GAL do our best to place dogs in kennels that we’d be comfortable putting our own hounds into, to ensure they get the best possible care and environment to help them with their journey to a loving forever home.

  • Many of the dogs GAL takes in for rehoming also require vaccination, microchipping and neutering.

    All of our incoming dogs are checked by our vets as soon as possible and are vaccinated, including kennel cough, if no records exist. We also ensure they’re neutered and microchipped if necessary, as soon as possible. Our average costs for these services is:

     Incoming dog check-up & vaccination | £130

    You, or your nominated person, will be posted on our website for the duration of your sponsorship.

     When you sign up for sponsorship we will send you details and ask for the details you’d like to be posted (you can opt out of this if you prefer).
