Volunteer Treasurer & Charity Trustee
We are currently looking for an experienced finance professional to join the GAL Committee as our new Treasurer. This is an essential trustee position that ensures our charity remains financially healthy and fully compliant, allowing us to continue our rescue work.
This role typically takes around 3 to 4 hours per week. It would be an ideal fit for a retired or semi-retired professional looking to volunteer their expertise, or an accountant looking to gain trustee experience to build their CV.
Key Responsibilities
Managing day-to-day incoming and outgoing payments.
Preparing monthly and annual financial reports for the committee.
Acting as the main point of contact for our external accountants.
Ensuring we meet all financial responsibilities and reporting deadlines as an OSCR-registered charity.
Who We Are Looking For
You have solid experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance (formal qualifications are an advantage).
You are highly competent with IT, specifically online business banking and financial management software (we currently use Xero).
You are willing to become a GAL member, step into a committee role, and take the time to understand the responsibilities of being a trustee for a registered charity.
Support & Handover You won't be starting from scratch. Our outgoing Treasurer has kept our records in excellent shape and will provide a full, comprehensive handover. The existing committee will also be there to support you as you settle into the role.
How to Apply If you have the financial skills we need and want to make a tangible difference for our hounds, we would love to hear from you.
